Enchanted: The Adorable Amy Adams Sings of Love

Enchanted is the Walt Disney backed film directed by Kevin Lima and starring: Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden, Susan Sarandon, and Timothy Spell. Enchanted tells the story of a fairy tale princess, living in an animated world, who longs for true love's kiss and thinks she has found it when a prince rescues her and whisks her away to his castle to get married. However, the Prince's mother doesn't like those plans and cast the princess (or actually princess to be) away and into the live action world on Earth. Once she is in the flesh she influences the likes of a engaged man and his daughter, while at the same time being influenced by them, with all of them coming to terms with what true love is really all about. Will the Prince come into the real world to save her? Will the Wicked Queen destroy them all? Will the Princess get her kiss and who will be doing the kissing? All this and more to be answered when you watch the movie yourself. If you want to waste a little more time with me, read on.

Amy Adams was made for this role. She brings a Broadway style personality to the movie, yet not the overly obnoxious kind ala that high pitched witch from the production of Wicked screeching out that song "Popular." Honestly, Adams is so gorgeously cute in this role I would have a hard time picturing her in anything else without first recalling this one. The other actors do fine I guess as well.

The movie itself is a total Disney chick flick complete with musical numbers and sappy romance. However, everyone needs a little sappy chick flick in their lives every now and then, though you won't catch me watching this one by myself any time soon. To be honest I took a little nap in the middle and then woke up for the big finale. Indeed the ending was entertaining.

Do I recommend Enchanted? Well, you know if it is your type of movie just by looking at the cover I am sure. It is overly cute and romantic with all the strong points of any Disney production. Indeed it was worthy of the big box office dollars it pulled down and it should be quite successful in getting itself into people's homes and on to their televisions. Yes: I recommend Enchanted.
