Nickent Golf has been making some quiet waves over the past few years with their line of hybrids. Their mid range price point and high quality designs have even been showing up in the bag of many Tour players. Nickent now offers every club in the bag from Driver to Putter and is poised to make a run at taking some of the golf equipment shares from the larger manufacturers such as Callaway and Taylor Made. I finally got a chance to give these clubs a try and was very surprised by the results.

The Nickent 4DX Tour Spec driver is designed for the better player who likes a traditional look, and who also likes to work the ball. It features a very light driver head at 180 grams, and is maxed out to the 460cc limit. The Beta Titanium face and crown make this club very lightweight, yet also very forgiving and long. This allows the engineers to move weight around to the perimeter of the club to offer a driver that is not only long, but very explosive as well. Nickent calls their perimeter weighting XW, and basically moves weight to the heel and toe areas for a higher MOI.

The driver itself at address looks amazing! It looks like a clean classic head and is not overly bulky for its size. The black head looks great and it has a square to slightly open look to it that the better player prefers. Hitting this club and working it was no problem at all. There was not a thing I could not do with this club. Fade, Draw, High, Low, it does it all! The only real issue I have with it is that it was 45.5" at its stock length. I feel this is way to long for any player and all drivers should be at 44.5" to allow for more consistent driving.

Overall, this is a great looking club that performs well at a great price. Better players will like its look and playability. You can pick them up online at around $260 and it performs and looks just as good as any of the other "Tour" model drivers out there. If you are a better player looking for a tour quality driver at a lower price or have tired their hybrids and liked them, you will have one of these in your bag the first time you hit it!
