Graduates with a degree in equine studies have already narrowed their career choices down considerably. By Graduating with a degree in equine studies, young men and women have already determined to spend most of their working life with  or around horses.  In some industrialized countries  opportunities for graduates with a degree in equine studies could prove to be few and far between.  In the United States, however, there continue to be many varied career opportunities for graduates with the rather unusual degree in equine studies.

Horse Farms     The first career option considered by many graduates with a degree in equine studies  is employment on a horse farm.  With training that covers both business and physical  aspects of working with horses, graduates with a degree in equine studies may find themselves applying for management positions or the more hands on work of breeding supervision  on a horse farm.

Horse farms are magnificently beautiful tracts of land where horses are bred and raised for sale and profit.  Horses are prized for their  beauty, trainability  and speed, and breeding is supervised to reproduce these qualities.  When grown the horse can be sold, further developed or kept for  breeding.  Graduates with a degree in equine studies will take on considerable responsibility for every step in this process.  Most graduates with a degree in equine studies begin with a basic love of horses and watching horses grow and develop is sheer joy, but also plenty of demanding work.

There are distinct  areas in the United states like Florida, Kentucky and Virgina where horse farms flourish.  Graduates with a degree in equine studies who are considering work on a horse farm may need to consider how willing they are to relocate to prime horse farming states.
