With the uproar over the comments of Senator Obama's pastor, friend and adviser the Reverend Wright, the minister of Trinity United Christian Church, some are beginning to question whether the media is engaged in 'Obama bashing'.

There is little doubt that the reverend Wright story has dominated the news. This is especially true of cable news networks who are hungry to fill the airwaves with news 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The coverage has been so widespread and growing in intensity that Senator Obama has been forced to respond in a speech explaining his relationship with reverend Wright.

While CNN, MSNBC and Fox news network all seem to update this story in daily reports FOX News seems obsessed with it. Since the video of Reverend Wright's rants against America and rich white people first appeared on You-tube FOX news has run and re-run the video constantly. Beginning with the early morning FOX and Friends show and on into the night to include FOX news with Sheppard Smith, Bill O'Reilly, Hannity and Combs and Greta Sustrin the tape is shown in an almost continuous loop.

This constant barrage apparently wore thin even on FOX employees as Thursday morning during a brief appearance on FOX and Friends political reporter Chris Wallace benignly suggested that enough is enough. Chris stated that he had been watching the FOX morning show since six AM and had seen the tape run again and again prior to his appearance on the cable show at 8:00 AM. He questioned the morning show hosts by asking 'what is the point, when is enough enough?'

It is easy to agree with Chris. We have all seen the rants of Reverend Wright and most (not all) of us are offended by them. The constant replaying of these tapes serves no purpose other than to fill air time.

One question being raised is whether the playing of the tapes and the linking of Senator Obama to the Reverend Wright is unfair to the Senator. Does this result in Obama bashing?

No one is taking issue with Reverend Wright saying that the AIDS virus is man-made. What I take issue and offense to is the Reverend Wright's claim that AIDS was developed by and used by the government to infect Afro-Americans. This is the equivalent of saying that the Afro American community invented cancer and infected the white race with it.....It is not only a stupid remark it is bigoted...as is the good Reverend.

Here's my issue: If we're going to hold reverends accountable for presidential elections, then shouldn't we be eyeing McCain too? McCain's friend, late Rev. Jerry Falwell, who said 9/11 was retribution from God, and Rev. John Hagee who said the Catholic Church "thirsted for the blood of the Jewish people" thoughout its history and that Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans to prevent a gay pride march? Do Obama naysayers hate him for his disrespect for homosexuality and translationof September 11th too? And just an FYI, if you want to find out more about why Rev. Wright may have a point about HIV/AIDS being a manmade disease, check out this six-part YouTube video set: http://www.youtube.com/v/Ml7q6iMwqLY&hl=en

As a Broadcast Journalism student, I can tell you that anything the news media chooses to report on and/or replay x amount of times is NEVER mistake or coincidence. FOX news knew exactly what they were doing and the effect it would have. I am not a Democratic supporter, but I do not believe it is fair to associate Obama with the political views of his pastor. I believe Reverend Wright's comments were completely and utterly unexpected by Obama and his campaign. As the son of a senior church pastor and someone who has interacted with people of all religious denominations and affiliations, I can tell you it is Rev. Wright who needs to be under scrutiny, not Sen. Obama. Obama should not be held accountable for comments made by his pastor. Rev. Wright needs to be held accountable by his church and, more importantly, God, for the comments he has made. The issue here is not Obama. The news media is all about conflict and controversy, and this sermon by Wright embodies just that. Do I believ

You have suggested that something in the above article is inaccurate and reports "false information" and lack credibility....I would like for you to point out to me where that is the case. You are happy with Reverend Wright's comments stating they "blunt but there is nothing wrong with them". As one who is concerned about spreading "false information" perhaps you could provide proof of the Reverend's statement of fact that the U.S. government invented the AIDS virus and infected the Afro-Americans with it. The Tuskegee experiment was a terrible and horribly negligent act spread involving 300 men over a 40 year period. It was a horrible experiment and those involved should have been imprisoned for life, from the Surgeon General on down. That said, no one in this experiment was injected with syphilis. Patients were drawn from those in the population with advanced stage syphilis and the syphilis advancement monitored. The crime was in the failure to treat the syphilis......if the

I would think that if you were a journalist, you would like to have some creditability behind your name. To all those incompetent journalists reporting false information, please do your homework! It wasn't very hard to find the truth. FOX news Lies!! Barack Obama Pastor Wright. Full sermons They took Pastor Wright's comments totally out of context!!! They've really done a smear job on him. Some of the incindiary language is actually a quote he is telling that he heard an ambassador guest on FOX news say. Check it out. They may be blunt but there is nothing wrong with these comments. Shows the full sermons. here are the youtube links: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOdlnzkeoyQ link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvMbeVQj6Lw The U.S. government created HIV and AIDS in an effort to decimate the black community." Why would he say this? GOOGLE the Tuskegee syphilis experiment. For forty years between 1932 and 1972, the U.S. Public Health Service (PHS) conducted

No, Obama isn't being unfairly bashed. The news media has been bashing Hillary for months, now it's his turn. And yes, he deserves it. There is NO way he didn't know about his preacher's opinions, he's lying about this. I also think the news media will uncover more proof that he's lying. I won't be voting for him. And, if Hillary isn't the nominee, I won't bother voting at all as I don't like either Obama or McCain.
