"Washington is broken. Together, we'll fix things." These are the motivating words of former republican presidential candidate and former governor of Massachusetts, Mitt Romney. Despite all of the harshly conflicting views and issues in politics today, we all hold one common goal: the betterment of society. Our opinions vary on the steps we should take toward our final destination, and this is a cause of constant dispute between parties and, increasingly frequently, inside the parties themselves. Sometimes we fail to realize the similarities among ourselves. Mitt Romney, a true conservative from Michigan, is the man who can bridge the gap. Although it is most likely too late this year, Mitt Romney must be chosen as the republican nominee in the 2012 election.

Currently, John McCain holds the majority of republican delegates and will almost certainly win the nomination. McCain is a very intelligent man but he lacks experience. His many years in the armed forces do not qualify him to be president, but rather a secretary of defense or a head general. Romney has experience on many levels. Before he followed in his father's footsteps into politics, he was very successful in the business world. He became an asset to Bain Company, a company that helps failing businesses reorganize and improve efficiency by cutting budgets and strengthening tactics. Some of these companies include Domino's Pizza, Staples, and Brookstone. He also took over the board of the Salt Lake City Olympics and turned their massive debt into millions of dollars of profit. With experience of economic reconstruction under his belt, Romney is the cure to the problems our country is having because he will prevent a recession and focus on moving forward: a direction upon which we can all agree.

Takeaways
  • Romney has abundant experience in economics.
  • Mitt has a clean record and a past he doesn't need to hide.
  • Romney is a diplomatic conservative who can easily break the barrier between parties.
