Anyone who lives in a loft knows what it is like to need cheap and affordable art that looks good. This art project is a great way to cover large blank walls for very little money. Anyone can easily make this arts and craft project, you don’t need to be an artist. If you can hold a ruler and a pencil, than you can make this wall art!

The geometric pattern of this art project lends itself well to a contemporary setting. If you paint it in neutral colors you could even use it in a traditional home décor.

Depending on the number of canvases that you purchase you should be able to make this entire project for around $100 to $125. In the need you will be covering about 100 square feet of wall space. Don’t worry though; you can easily make this wall art project on a mush smaller scale!

To Make a Geometric Wall Art Project You Will Need:

9 Canvases (Already Stretched on Wood)
3 Pints of Paint (Color Recommendation to Flow)
1 accent pint of Paint (color recommendations to follow)
Painter’s Tape
Paint Rollers (One small and one large)
Foam Paint Brush
Picture Hanging Hooks

The first step is to roll a coat of paint onto your canvas. The entire canvas; front and all the sides. Completely paint all side’s of the canvases in this first paint color.

Once the paint has dried thoroughly, for at least 24 hours, you can move onto the next step in this art project.

Tape triangle shapes off on each canvas. Start by taping a horizontal line from the top left of the canvas down to the bottom right. Repeat this step working form the top right down to the bottom left. Make sure the tape is on the out most point of the corner. You are taping off an upside down triangle on the top of the canvas. Go ahead and tape this same pattern off on all 9 canvases.

Once you have finished taping, roll paint #2 on with a foam roller. You want it to be smooth and even. Allow this paint to dry and remove the tape. In any order you want!

  • The geometric pattern of this art project lends itself well to a contemporary setting.
