If you are into politics and have followed the primary season you know that the Republican candidate has already been chosen and the Democratic race is unbelievably close. You know that there is a mere 100 delegates or so separating the leader Barack Obama from Hillary Clinton. With only a few contests left in states such as Pennsylvania, Indiana, and North Carolina every delegate won counts. There are a mere 566 pledged delegates up for grabs and Obama, who is the closest to the magic 2024, still needs 413 delegates. It is highly unlikely that the vote counts will lead to either candidate getting almost all of the delegates left. That is why it is so important for every delegate to be counted. Do we really want our next Democratic presidential candidate to be chosen by the super delegates? One solution to this problem is the much talked about states of Michigan and Florida. Both states were stripped of their delegates by their respective Democratic state parties for going against the party rules and moving up the date of their primaries. Combined they hold 366 delegates that could have a major impact on this election if they were allowed to be seated at the convention and cast their vote for the candidate the people have chosen. Besides do we not live in a democratic country that is supposed to have a government of the people, for the people, and by the people? It cannot be a government by the people if the people of two very populous states are not allowed to be heard!
