Ever wonder what the next fashion trends and fads going to be? To most of us, those are some pretty scary thoughts. There are some that are really hip and stylish from the beginning and there are others that should have never been a fashion statement.

Let's take the low-rider jeans. These jeans make a really cool and sexy fashion statement, only in moderation. Some individuals can overdo anything, even with low-riders. I wear low-rider jeans, but no one is ever going to see a thong ascending from my pants and/or any other distracting obstacles. That is not sexy. It is called "a fine mess!" There is a suggestion: if anyone does not want to show some extra skin, put on a shirt that is the appropriate length to cover it. We want to keep low-riders sexy!

Many people, especially people who were born in the late eighties and later, do not know that these pretty little low-riders existed during the late 1960s in the hippie era. Let's think Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and psychedelic music. These pants also carried on into the 1970s culture, such as disco and the Brady Bunch (actually the show premiered in 1968.) But as the 1970s drew to a close, so did these wonderful pants. Now on to the eighties.

The 1980s brought us some great things as well. Think the Cosby Show, Whiz Kids, and the Smurfs. I remember these shows because I was a kid during the eighties. But there are some things about this "me" decade that should be swept under the rug! It has one word: Spandex. In my opinion, Spandex was the most unattractive fashion statement that ever existed. They were so tight that every bone in the body was seen. I like Guns N' Rose, Whitesnake, and Living Colour; however I did not like to see them in those pants. These pants were not limited to the rock stars. They were also in cartoons. The Smurfs was my favorite childhood cartoon, but their pants looked like Spandex. It is just an assumption!

Things just rotate in and out. I've youngish, but I too have noticed this when it comes to fashion.

Everything that was once out of style, seems to keep coming back. I remember the bell bottoms and my dad saying that they use to wear these when he was a child. I am also seeing a lot of trends from the 80's come back. Great article as always.

I was never a big fan of spandex either. I just hope that trend doesn't return.
