With email, games, music and just plain surfing, we all know what a time-waster the internet can be! But are you using the internet’s time saving advantages to the fullest? The following tips will help you to go online to save time in all areas of your life.

Post It

Ever find yourself scouring the house for a postage stamp, only to realize you are out of them? Great, the dreaded trip to the Post Office where you get to take a number and wait in line! Instead, why not check out the US Postal Service Website. You can accomplish all of your postal needs online: find zip codes, calculate postage, print labels, buy postage, track shipping, schedule a pick up and more!

Number, Please

Need to order a pizza, schedule a haircut, or phone an old friend? You could thumb through the phone book or pay to call 411, but why would you when the information you need is at your fingertips. Go online to one of myriad internet telephone directories. A few favorites: Dexonline allows you to search within a 1 – 100 mile radius of any address; Anywho which, along with white and yellow pages, offers reverse phone number lookups; and Dogpile where you can search white or yellow pages by city or even state for a broader search.

Photo Ops

Why spend the time driving to the photo booth or drug store to drop off film or discs, only to come back to find half of your pictures include red-eyed children, bad poses and fingertips? Upload digital photos or mail rolls of film to an online service and see, and sometimes fix, your pics before you pay for them. There are scads to choose from: Snapfish offers digital prints as low as 10¢, developing rolls of film for $2.99, free online photo sharing, free editing tools and software, and products that can be personalized with your pics; Wal-mart’s online photo center allows you to upload photos to pick up in store, have delivered to your home, or print yourself.
