Hillary Clinton has a plan to resolve our country's mortgage crisis. During a speech Monday in Philadelphia, the New York Senator and Democratic presidential hopeful outlined her plans to take "aggressive action to help families avoid foreclosure" and "keep families in their homes, and stabilize our communities and our economy."

But just like so many of the "plans" that make up Hillary Clinton's platform, it's hard to find very much substance or original thought in the Senator's proposal. It's ironic (though unsurprising) that a Clinton campaign that has been so dependent on bashing Barack Obama as a hollow promise-spewing, vague, slick-tongued snake oil salesman is selling the exact same snake oil in a slightly different packaging. Hillary Clinton's mortgage crisis plan is long, detailed, and very specific at times. Still, it's hard to understand exactly what she's proposing, exactly how it's going to materialize, and exactly why anybody should believe her.

Most importantly, I have a lot of trouble believing that her outlined solution will do anything for young, struggling families like mine. Here in Central Wisconsin, business owners are proclaiming that things haven't been worse since 1980. Profit margins are "nonexistent." Incidentally, substandard or non-existent health insurance directly contributes to five deaths a week--that's 250 probably avoidable deaths every year--here in Wisconsin.

I digress. And, to be fair, Hillary Clinton does have a pretty sound healthcare platform. But for now, we're talking housing. We're talking about important things like making sure upper-middle class homeowners can afford to stay in their Northern Wisconsin lakefront palaces. That seems to be Hillary's goal.

Please, Hillary Clinton! Help this poor, struggling family keep their modest 5-bedroom, 2.5-bath home!
