Clinton "Misspoke," Say Political Advisors

What was Said, and What Really Happened

In recent weeks, the Clinton campaign has made much to-do about the issue of experience in foreign affairs. One may recall the recent "It's 3:00 A.M" commercial and the heavy criticism Hilary's campaign leveled at Obama during the

Texas primary. The most recent addition to her foreign-affairs resume is the claim that, during her husband's final presidential term, she visited Bosnia "under sniper fire."

According to the New York Times, Clinton has spoken of the event in recent speeches, saying "I remember landing under sniper fire. There was supposed to be some kind of greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base."

Recently a number of sources, including the comedian Sinbad (who accompanied her on the trip), have refuted Hilary Clinton's claims. Several media sources have shown news footage of the trip in question, which shows Senator Clinton landing peacefully and meeting with the Bosnian President and his daughter. Hilary Clinton has addressed the new information, admitting that she "misspoke" when recounting her experiences in Bosnia. Her campaign staff would add, however, that her experiences in Bosnia are no less valuable in light of this new information. The issue of experience has been a popular theme throughout her campaign, and it is unlikely that she will let go of such an effective weapon this late in the race.
