The Beachway Resort in Saugatuck, Michigan: A Tourist's Review

Michigan is a state that is full of a lot of beauty. They have so many relaxing hotels looked near Lakes, that make you feel like you are on a tropical paradise getaway. The Beachway Resort makes for the perfect family summer getaway.

Located at 106 Perryman Street in Saugatuck, Michigan, the Beachway Resort overlooks the banks of the Kalamazoo River. The hotel is also the closest hotel to Lake Michigan's breathtaking and award-winning Oval Beach.

The room that my husband and I stayed in was amazing! We took one of the Waterfront suites and I recommend that everyone chooses one of these rooms. I am so glad that we picked this room. When you walk out on the balcony you were only about 7 feet from the edge of the water. It was a beautiful view!

It was so romantic to sit out here by the water. The downtown Saugatuck is right across the river. So at night all of the city lights light up the area and reflect off of the water. It makes for a nice romantic view. My husband and I took a bottle of wine out here and enjoyed it as we took in the view.

Our room was gorgeous. It had a bedroom with a king size bed and was decorated very elegant and simple. The window gave a great view of the water. Then we also had a seating area with a sofa, chairs and a TV that had cable and a VCR. There was also the patio door that led to the balcony in here.

Then we had a small kitchen area that was complete with a refrigerator and microwave. It also had a small island for two people to eat at. All the dishes and utensils you needed where stocked in the cabinets. It was very convenient to have all that available.

Out back, they had a nice sized gated pool area. It was even heated so you didn't have to worry about jumping in cold water! This was a great spot to relax in the sun at. The area was really pretty.

If you feel like going in to the downtown area of Saugatuck, all you have to do is wait for the ferry! The ferry is the last hand-cranked ferry in the United States. It gives you a quick, but smooth ride. Then you can say you took a ride on a one of a kind ferry!
