October 10, 1926. The St Louis Cardinals win their first World Championship when they defeat the New York Yankees 4 games to 3 to win the World Series. The Cardinals win game seven 3-2 with Jesse Haines getting the win and Grover Cleveland Alexander getting the save. The Cardinals score all three of their runs in the 4^th inning.
