Since joining the National League in 1892 the Cardinals have been the most successful team in National League History. They have won 10 World Championships, the most by any National League team and second only to the New York Yankees in Major League History. Here is a look at the Cardinals ten World Championships.

October 10, 1926. The St Louis Cardinals win their first World Championship when they defeat the New York Yankees 4 games to 3 to win the World Series. The Cardinals win game seven 3-2 with Jesse Haines getting the win and Grover Cleveland Alexander getting the save. The Cardinals score all three of their runs in the 4th inning.

October 10, 1931. The Cardinals win their second World Championship when they defeat the Philadelphia A's 4 games to 3 to win the World Series. Burleigh Grimes is the winning pitcher . George Watkins hits a home run as the Cardinals win the game 4-2.

October 9, 1934. The Cardinal win their third World Championship when they defeat the Detroit Tigers 11-0 in game seven of the World Series. Dizzy Dean pitched a complete game for the win. The Cardinals score 7 runs in the third inning to put the game away.

October 5, 1942. The Cardinals win their 4th World Championship by defeating the New York Yankees 4 games to 1 in the World Series. The Cardinals win game 5 when Whitey Kurowski hits a 2 run home run in the top of the 9th inning to give the Cardinals a 4-2 lead.. Johnny Beazley pitched a compete game for the win.

October 9, 1944. The Cardinals defeat their cross town rivals the St Louis Browns in 6 games to win their 5th World Championship. The Cardinals win game six behind the pitching of Max Lanier and Ted Wilks. The final score is 3-1.

October 15, 1946. The Cardinals defeat the Boston Red Sox in seven games to win their 6th World Championship. Enos Slaughter scores the winning run on the bottom of the 8th when he scores all the way from first on a double by Harry Walker. Harry Brecheen is the winning pitcher as the Cardinals win the game 4-3.
