Objectives- Student will understand the events of the end of World War Two in both the Pacific and European Fronts. They will know the keys to allied success. We will then transition into the immediate post-war period. Students will understand the creation of the United Nations, tensions between the United States and Soviet Union, and the affect this had on the rebuilding of war torn countries. 

Materials- textbook, PowerPoint with pictures of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, World War Two DBQ, World War Two review sheet

Procedures- 
1. To start the class, ask the students about how the war in Europe ended. (They should know this from last class)
2. Review the event that ended the war in Europe.
3. Introduce the end of the war in the Pacific by showing pictures on PowerPoint of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
4. Class discussion on the events at the end of the war and why the atomic bombs were used.
5. Discuss post war politics having the students read Chapter 10 section 5 in their books.
6. Assign DBQ and allow students to ask any questions they have about the documents.
7. Handout review sheet and allow students to begin working on either review sheet or DBQ for the last minutes of class.
