Carly Smithson's Performance on American Idol

I absolutely love Carly Smithson. She sang Total Eclipse of the Heart tonight on American Idol. I enjoy her choice of songs in spite of what the judges say every week. She has the ability to sing powerful ballads and upbeat songs as well.

She has a powerful, beautiful voice. She has been one of my favorites since the beginning. I would buy any CD she would put out. She has a very good stage presence and I enjoy watching her. I hope she can stay in this and come in at the end.

I think that the guys are very strong this year. David Cook and Michael Johns are powerful mature performers. Carly is a mature performer as well, but I just don't know how the votes will come out.

David Archuleta and Jason Castro have the teen votes from the girls.

Tonight, for the first time, I think Syesha Mercado could give Carly a run for her money. Syesha stepped up tonight and did equally as well as Carly.

I told myself this year that I would not watch American Idol anymore. I did not want to get caught up in having to turn on the TV twice a week or miss it when I go out. Carly Smithson is one of the reasons I have watched the show and will continue watching it.
