The first elimination episode of the new season of Dancing with the Stars aired this evening at 9 on ABC. The show began with backstage confessionals from last night's performances, and then Tom and Samantha turned to Len, who asked that Jason and Edyta perform their Mambo for the night's encore dance. The hosts then reviewed the judges' standings for the male celebrities, and Steve and Anna became the first couple to move on to the next round.

After the commercial break, the Jonas Brothers took to the stage with their rendition of the classic 80s hit A-Ha. Professional dancers Anna and Jonathan and Edyta and Tony joined them with a high-energy performance of their own on the dancefloor. Samantha then joined the male celebrities backstage to talk elimination turkey. Steve promised to work hard for next week, and the other men - with the exception of Adam Carolla, who made bizarre remarks of his own - praised Guttenberg's zest for life and enthusiasm.

Post another break, Samantha and Tom revealed that Jason and Edyta and Mario and Karina would be moving on to the next round. A segment featuring the celebrities' thoughts on potentially going home then aired. Monica said that she "would definitely have tears in [her] eyes" if she were the first female celeb to be sent home, while Mario and Jason each expressed that they're in it to win it.

It is obvious that you have no love for Adam. :) Neither do I. I have yet to see anything he does in which he is actually funny. Too bad for Penn.
