Why Did You Leave Me?

I have never felt so lonely as I did when you died,

I loved you more than anything,

Why did you have to leave me?

Everyday of my life, when I came home you were there,

Ready to make all the bad things in my life disappear.

Why were you taken from me?

Now when I come home, there is emptiness,

You are not there to greet me, to kiss me, or talk to me.

Everywhere I look, I see you.

I have surrounded myself with pictures of you.

Over a year has gone now since that day when you passed,

Yet I still feel that pain I felt as if it were today.

Why did you have to leave me?

I face everyday now without you.

No one to make me feel better, or take my troubles away.
