Voyager (VOY) was a series that went back to what made Star Trek great: a starship exploring through unknown regions of space. It also was the first series to feature a female captain as the star of the show. The interactions between the characters were so great that I could not wait to see the next episode! My favorite parts were:

* The interactions between Captain Kathryn Janeway and Commander Chakotay, and later Captain Janeway and the former human who became assimilated and later discovered her humanity again, Seven of Nine.

* The Doctor aka Emergency Medical Hologram, went from being this rigid, curt program into a "full" member of the crew - from his mobile emitter, to list discovering human pastimes: opera, acting, and relationships.

* The maturing of both Lieutenant Commander Tom Paris and Ensign Harry Kim over the course of the series.

* The way that Chief Engineer B'lanna Torres came to terms with her dual ancestry - human and Klingon.

* The interactions with new races, both with positive and not-so-positive outcomes.

* The near constant battling against the Borg and helping those species and people help from being assimilated.

* The discovery that the Borg had an even greater enemy to them than the Borg were to us - Species 8472.

While many people's favorite series, Voyager would have to be my second choice behind The Next Generation. The popularity of this series is evident by the weekday afternoon double airings of this show on the Spike channel. It is also shown on selected late night/early morning weekdays.

I'll always have fond memories of Star Trek: Voyager since it was the first show I scored an in person meeting with in Hollywood. The show had premiered 4 months prior to the meeting - so the excitement level on the series for the staff was very high! As I sipped my raspberry Snapple in the waiting room just before my pitch meeting, I still was shocked I was even there!
