Can you save money by not wasting and trimming down? Not only can you save money but you can save time simultaneously. Simple things that we overlook can save us money. In 1998 one of the major airlines took the frilly parsley leaves off their meal trays and saved millions of dollars. There are many ways to save money but lets look at 10 ways starting with water.

1) Water - One simple change that can save quite a bit of money is taking a shower instead of a bath. A simple experiment is to allow the tub to collect the water that you use from taking a shower. You will soon see that the tub does not fill up that much compared to the amount of water it takes for you to fill a tub for a bath.

2) Using Wipes - Wipes nowadays can be used for many things. After wiping up a kid's face or hands turn the wipe around and wipe up a spot on the wall, floor or table. This will prevent you from taking a second wipe to clean that spot.

3) Aluminum foil - Don't throw that used aluminum foil away, recycle! I was not aware until just recently that my recycling center will reimburse me for aluminum, even used aluminum. So after you use it keep it aside in a large garbage bag. When the bag is filled bring it to your local recycling center and get cash for it. I returned one and received sixty dollars.

4) Dishes - Sick of doing so many dishes and wasting so much water. Aluminum foil can be used instead of dishes for many meals. Forget the paper plates use aluminum foil. Remember you can get reimbursed for used aluminum foil but not plastic.

5) Junk mail - Sick of all that junk mail. Maybe you will be looking forward to it from now on. When mail comes to your house take a look at it. Is it something that you could use in scrap booking? Save pictures and words from the junk mail. Later you can cut them out and use them for scrap booking.

6) Ripped Clothing - So your favorite blouse is ripped? Too bad for you, but you certainly still have a use for it. Pop the buttons off to save in case you need one. Use the shirt to wrap a gift. Use ribbon to tie it together. It will be a very unique and beautiful gift wrap.

The wrapping paper ideas are good. I used to use the color Sunday funnies as wrapping paper for kids gifts, too.
