Before the NCAA Tournament started, lots of pundits (myself included) thought there was no chance that tiny Davidson College, a school from the Southern conference would ever beat Gonzaga, a school in the West that knows a little itself about being an underdog and overcoming those odds.

But the little engine that could did, eliciting a surprising response from pundits who never thought they would then beat No. 2 Georgetown. The Hoyas, you know, were a well-coached unit that John Thompson III cultivated from nothingness, basically, and led to three Final Four appearances in four years.

So to pick against Davidson at this point would be suicide, right? Considering their next opponent is No. 3 seed Wisconsin, who upended perennial heavyweights like Cal-Fullerton and Kansas State with defense. But you may as well shoot the poison arrow into my heart, as the song goes.

Wisconsin forced bonafide NBA future star Michael Beasley of K-State into a horrid night from the field and they will do the same to Stephen Curry, son of ex-NBA shooting star Dell Curry. It's one thing to be able to shoot the ball, and like the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers, the other Cinderella still wearing her slipper, Davidson can do that in spades.

If Wisconsin can keep Curry under control their chances go up. Not a team known for its offense, the Badgers are underrated and are more of a blue-collar team than most. That said, they have only lost once when allowing less than 70 points in any game.

But can the Badgers stop Stephen Curry? I believe the answer is no, since Wisconsin allowed Josh Akognon of Cal State-Fullerton to light them up for 31 in the Badgers 71-56 win in the first round. That box score was good enough for me. Wisconsin is not Georgetown. Let the madness continue.

ANALYSIS: Davidson's Stephen Curry may well be the best player in the tournament. How he goes is how Davidson goes. And the Wildcats didn't get here by just beating schmucks; they got by Gonzaga and then upset Georgetown. And the Hoyas are a much better team than Wisconsin. And Wisconsin, though they haven't lost often (they're 30-4), will lose this one.

I'm curious. How many WI games have you seen this year?

I think you are right. I f Curry is allowed any space to shoot, Wisconsin will go down like Georgetown.
