Does Jason Castro Have Enough to Continue Up the AI Ladder?

The shy, quirky impression that Jason Castro puts out has left many American Idol fans in sort of a state of confusion. Jason's voice is indeed soft and soothing still, though is it enough to keep him in the Idol running? His choice of songs have been exactly what fits him. He definitely could have been a big hit in the 1970's era of music. But what about today's genre?

Based on voice alone, he could survive a couple more weeks perhaps making it into the top 5 even though his lack of energy on stage seems a bit to lax-ed. The American Idol judges have basically said that Jason does need to try something different, something that isn't exactly him. Jason obviously has built a fan base; now it is time for him to start taking chances and stepping out of his safe zone into uncharted territory.

The fans that love Jason love him because of who he is; he is obviously adored. To see another side of Jason, perhaps more edgy or even pop, might make him seem a bit more modern and more likable, otherwise he might start to come off as boring and no one likes to watch an animated stoic performance.

Jason Castro is indeed a contender in this years American Idol but to go all the way or even into the top 3 might take a little more than what American Idol fans have seen and heard so far. Jason needs to step up his game and give a outstanding performance in order to survive on American Idol.
