Strolling through the grocery aisle, I was pleasantly surprised to see that M&Ms has launched a new limited edition flavor called Wildly Cherry M&Ms. Since I love both cherry and chocolate as flavors, I wondered if M&Ms would be able to blend the flavors into something delicious. I had previously tried the new Diet Dr. Pepper Cherry Chocolate soda and hated it. Would the Wildly Cherry M&Ms actually taste good or would these new M&Ms be going the way of the Diet Dr. Pepper Cherry Chocolate soda, thrown away after just one taste?

Taste:

Wildly Cherry M&Ms reminded me of a chocolate covered cherry. They are also over-sized, much like the Ogre Sized Shrek M&Ms that were on the market previously. The outer covering is not where the cherry taste originates, however. The cherry flavor is most certainly blended into the milk chocolate of the M&M. When I say it tastes like a chocolate covered cherry, I mean the less expensive variety, like Queen Anne's, not the ultra delicious Cella.

Cost:

You could hope for a sale, but the Limited Edition Wildly Cherry M&Ms were not inexpensive. I purchased an 11.8 oz package for just under $3.50. This is a bit more than I would normally spend on M&Ms, but these are Limited Edition M&Ms and as such, won't be on the shelf long before being purchased.

Nutritional Content:

The serving size for Wildly Cherry M&Ms is approximately ¼ cup, which translates to 210 calories. As for vitamins, there aren't many in this product. This is a candy product and so it is mainly sugar, 25g of sugar carbs to be exact. There is no trans fat, but 6g of saturated fat, which is 30% of the DV. In short, these M&Ms are empty calories. Allergy Information:

Did You Know?
While I liked the Wildly Cherry M&M's, my children loved them more. I wasn't driven to eat them hand over fist, but my children ate half a bag while I was out of the house one day.

These sound pretty good. I wasn't aware they existed. I'll have to look for them next time I'm out and about.

I don't like cherry flavors but may just try these to see what the hype is about. Thanks for the interesting review.

I didn't even know that these were available. I too tried the Diet Dr. Pepper this week. It wasn't to horrible but it wasn't that great either. Thanks for the review!

Great review! I had been wondering if the cherry taste was in the candy shell or in the chocolate!
