Starbucks is well known for all of their ominous varieties of the almighty bean. However there exists other items that they sell which often go unnoticed. People ignore these items as if they are the middle child of what I would consider the Starbucks family. I am speaking about a delicious beverage that i recently discovered called Naked, which is produced by The Naked Truth TM. My university, as well as the town, just so happens to have Starbucks within walking distance. I am not a slave to the coffee bean, however I don't mind a double shot espresso for a quick pick me up now and again. I do feel bad though when I venture into the well publicized and popular chain. There are little nooks and crannies that never seem to be purchased, it is either that or the staff is very apt to keep stock.

The beverage came in two flavors available at Starbucks. What drew my attention to it was the small shape of the bottle, as well as the name of the drink. Naked? what is so naked about it. I read the back of the item as we all should if given the time to do so. The naked truth company has taken the time to describe its product at the same time deliver a slight wit, which is to be expected. I personally am trying to improve my health and diet, so I have taken small measure such as changing my food and beverages to assist in the process. I find it very interesting what companies write on their products at times its witty, but if nothing else it is informative. The following is what was on the Naked bottle:

"This ambrosial smoothie is a treasure-trove of antioxidants- nature's elite force against free radicals. But enough of that self-repair stuff. Think palm trees and scantly-clad natives. When it comes to juice, we understand you need to get Naked. So we use only the freshest and purest stuff in the world and leave out everything else. That means no added sugar, no preservatives, no inhibitions."

Clever advertising and presentation. I'll stick with the bean though. :-)
