Brooke White's American Idol Performance

On Tuesday night's American idol, Arizona's own Brooke White sang the popular song "Every Breath You Take" by The Police. Even though she started off on the wrong key and had to start over Brooke really did an awesome job. She started the song off by playing the piano with no background music and singing on her own.

It sounded very beautiful and raw. Simon said that towards the middle of the song when the band and the background singers came in, it wasn't as good. I would have to agree. She sounded so great with just her and the piano. That is her thing. The performance was reminiscent of the first Beatle's week when she sang "Let It Be". She sounds so beautiful with the piano. She definitely proved she was back in the game. Randy Jackson said he liked it even with the mistake in the beginning. This was a surprise because usually they throw the contestants under the bus if they make any minuscule mistakes.

It is really cool that they decided to let the contestants use instruments this year. A lot of these contestants can play more than one. It gives the show a whole new dimension of talent. Because of this there are so many different types of talent among the contestants this year.

I think Brooke White is definitely a front runner because she is different and she has a great, bubbly, happy personality. She takes criticism well and come on, she can play multiple instruments. She is all around a very talented young woman. She seems to know a lot about music. She knows when she is bad and owns up to it.

For the most part she is right on queue with the experts, who usually know what they are talking about. Most of the contestants get defensive and think they are always good. I like that Brooke can admit when she has a bad performance and she listens to the judges' advice. Most of the time with voting shows like this the world votes based on talent and personality and Brooke's got both. I have seen really talented people lose because they were rude or boring or whatever. I think the fact that she is unique with a good attitude might put her in the top 5 at least. Who knows maybe another Arizonan has a shot at the title.
