It is a fact that in order to obtain a drivers license a person needs to past a drivers test. It is also a fact that many people with drivers licenses do not know how to park a car properly. A person can only speculate why this seems to be the case. One possible answer, is that it takes a completely different skill set to park a car than to drive one. However, one thing is for sure, when it comes car parking a great many people need to take an etiquette course. What drivers should know about car parking etiquette.

Half Spotters

Are you a half spotter? You know one of those drivers who always half parks their car in a parking space as if you decided to park your car, but half way during the process reconsidered it, yet not enough to pull completely out. Car parking etiquette tips, completely park your car in the parking space or don't park there.

True or False: Take All The Time in The World Before Deciding To Park

It absolutely and positively false to take all the time in the world before deciding to park. Picture this, there are a half dozen cars behind you, then there is you, a driver, indecisive, whistling a tune, and taking your own sweet time. Shame on you! If you are unsure whether or not you wish to park in a particular space, then move on. It is never okay to screw with other people's time or patience.

Motorcyclist Why Are You Taking Up Parking Spaces?

There is nothing more aggravating to a driver, with an actual car, then seeing a motorcycle parked in a parking space, especially when you are looking for one. A motorcycle being not a car, only takes up half a parking space as oppose to a car that is because parking spaces were kind of designed for cars. Motorcycles have the option of either parking on the street or in a parking space, while a car can only park on the street. Therefore maybe motorcyclist should be more cognizant of this fact and just park on the side street?

People who park carelessly annoy me, too! At our local grocery store, for years people would park in the fire lane, which was clearly marked, right in front of the store. Then their car would be in the way of the two-way traffic. I guess they were just too darn lazy to walk across the parking lot, because there were plenty of handicapped spaces if that was their problem. The local police finally started enforcing the "no parking" sign there because I haven't noticed it happening lately. I also love those folks who park on the line between two spaces to keep others from bumping the car with their doors. Makes me want to ram right into their car (I haven't yet, but one of these days......).
