A few evenings ago I had a dream - a slight impression of heaven that was so vivid in my state of reverie that I woke up wondering if it was real. As time passed and the painting in thought diminished, I find myself wondering what my ideal Garden of Eden would be like.Since God created mankind so diverse, will our own Garden of Eden's be just as varied?
Some like winter, others prefer summer. Some are fond of oceans, others love mountains.
I would like my own Garden of Eden to be a place of beautiful, earthy repose. I'm an introvert and I'm comfortable with leisure and various states of silence. If I were to look upon my Garden of Eden I would live in a cozy mountain cabin with a large wrap around deck. In front of my cabin would be a charming garden full of dramatic flowers - mostly red roses. There would be a gazebo for reading and a clear, sparkling lake in the distance. Birds would sing from the trees and the wildlife I find so fascinating would intermingle harmoniously and nothing would wither or die.
I would love the four seasons in my Garden of Eden and would joyfully welcome autumn - an ambiance emblazoned with the colors of red, gold and amber. There would be a chill in the air, some wild wind, and leaves that would fall but not decay. At home, in my inviting cabin, would be a crackling fire, afghans to snuggle under, and the perfume of warm scented candles in scents of creamy caramel, cinnamon, pumpkin or roasted pecans. I would go on walks in my Garden of Eden and my companions would be the pets I've loved and lost, as well as the neighborhood dogs--Birdie and Chelsea--that used to join me on walks when I was a teen.
Snow would be in my Garden of Eden - a winter wonderland of sorts - and would fall like powder from the sky. The lake would freeze and my loved ones and I would skate. We would also go sledding and enjoy a sleigh ride by candlelight. My husband, with whom I'm happy and content, would have his own Garden of Eden nearby, as would all my loved ones; I would enjoy visiting them there and I would connect with them amongst their own ingenuity.
My Garden of Eden would be simple, natural and I would be forever happy in it.
What would yours be?
