Buyers beware of First Premier Bank's Platinum credit cards. Sure, using the card correctly can help to restore bad credit by building a credit history, but there is a major problem with the way First Premier Bank handles payments, as some Platinum credit card users are finding out.

First Premier Bank has a written security clause called Payment Verification in the payment policy which halts customer's available credit for a minimum of sixteen days after payments have been received and deducted from the remaining balance due.

When a local bank employee was asked what the normal amount of time for a Payment Verification process was, she asserted that two or three days was common and that an amount of fourteen was surely not realistic. The clause, in its entirety or even in part, is only mentioned one place- the back of the written, mailed bill in very fine print.

There are numerous ways to pay on accounts, most of which does not require the customer to have even seen the paper bill. On the back of the First Premier Bank Platinum credit card is the website address and phone number of First Premier Bank. If a customer uses either of these two ways to contact and make payment, then the customer does not come in contact with a possible chance of finding the notice!

For one of First Premier Bank's Platinum credit card customers, this was a double smack because she had paid the balance in full and plus had a three dollar credit- all before she had received her first bill. She says, "I just wanted to raise my credit rating and gain some credit history, so I tried it out. I fell I got gypped because the web page that I made my payment at said it would post the same day because it was before 3:00 PM, Thursday. When it didn't post the next day, I called and was told my account had to go through a security process to ensure their payment. The man said many others had to go through this also and that I was warned on the back of my bill that it could take twenty or more days to receive credit. I feel I was mislead about the payment procedure at First Premier Bank. I hope not to find any other surprises."

Hello everyone. I've had my First Premier credit card for a few months now. It's true there are a lot of charges associated with using this card and therefore we need to be careful that we don't exceed our credit limits and are not late making payments. I receive monthly statements. As soon as I open the statement and review it for accuracy I call First Premier and ask them how much do I need to send to ensure I do not exceed the credit limit. BEWARE, once I was told I only needed to send $20.00 and my account wouldn't be over the credit limit. WHEW! Don't believe everything you hear. I made a payment of $25.00 and when I got my next statement I could see if I would have listened to the representative at First Premier I would have indeed been over the limit. Don't know about everyone else, but I can't afford that kind of BS charge. Nevertheless, I will continue to call them and ask how much I need to send to avoid being over the limit and then add an additional $10.00 just to

I have the Gold Master card and just recieved a Platinum card from first premier. They are honestly a good company to build credit but i dont agree with the 7 dollar fee that is applied to the bill to make a payment. Thats just unreal!

I cant stand this idiotic, criminalistic and unsubstantiated company- Thanks to their stupid mistake on an EFT Payment over the phone where the representative entered a typo on my checking account... My payment to their stupid company was returned to them, and because of their 50 dollar mistake, I am going to have to carry this crap on my credit report until 2014!!!! What is up with that? True they may claim and actually hlep you rebuild your credit, but how many hoops of flames and inflated lcharges and lack of integrity or respect or even an ounce of coompassion for somebody trying to do right for themselves. This is the most irresponsible, incompetent group of crooks that dont carry the integrity or respect that one might find more of in a dark alley with a bag full of money! FIRST PREMIER,! YOU SUCK, THANKS FOR RUINNING MY FICO DUE TO YOUR INCOMOPETENCE! EAT MY WEEK OLD SHORTS !!! I WOULD THINK THAT VISA WOULD HAVE BETTER SCRUPLES THAN SUPPORTING SUCH A SCREWED UP GROUP

Hm I recently got this card... no problems so far. You people who are complaining about the fees should READ what they send you before you sign up.. Everything is right there infront of your eyes. I knew about all the fees and I accepted it anyway b/c I have no credit and this is helping me build my credit. I just use my card for gas, thats it. Then I make sure to pay it off every single month before the due date. Be responsible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! geez

I have had Chase all for ten years, and Capital one for five, and Household Bank as well, and Wa Mu too. I would recommend any of these to people. Chase is the best, as they gave me credit, when I had no credit history. I got my first credit card at the age of 35. Recently I was approved for a Lowe's home improvement card, with a free poinsetta. So, there are better ways to go, than with FPB. I had wanted them, for sh--s and giggles. Didn't know they would be such a pain in the a--!

Cont... I was told to destroy the card after the account had been canceled. I already had done so, using a lighter to melt the magnetic strip, and sissors to cut the thing up, and put it in the dumpster that very day. I watched the garbage truck pick up the trash, and said goodbye First Premier Bank, and good riddance! They charged me a final bill of one dollar too. I paid it off, with their seven dollar on-line fee.

Well, I never liked this card for the high fees I had to pay. I will admit, I didn't look at the initial advert very closely, and was shocked by the high start up fees, and had received the card, and used it. I was also surprised they had sent an active card in the mail too. But, by using it, I was committed to the fees, which showed up later, after I had charged over a hundred or so, and got the overcharge fee. I was going to pay it off and cancel it, but kept it for four months. I never really used it much, and finally came into some money and paid it off. I went to use it, and found out about the hold for twenty or so days. I canceled it at this point, after sending some nice little e-mails to customer service that I thought this was a "laughable policy" they had. I never got a response on that. I was told my account was canceled as requested, and they sent a bill for one dollar. Ha, ha, ha. I was also told to destroy my card. I already had done so, with a lighter to mel

THEY ARE THIEVES

Posted on 11/20/2007 at 12:11:00 PM

I THINK IT IS CRINAL HE WAY THEY CHARGE A MONHLY FEE AND THAT FEE ADDED TO THE BALANCE AMKES ME OVER THE LIMIT. THIS IS UNREAL TO ME, I HAVE NEVER HAD HA HAPPEN TO ME EVER, AND I HAVE HAD A MANT AS 6 MANY. AS 6 CREDIT CARDS. SOME WIH FEES AND SOME WITHOUT. BUT IT HAS BEEN A WAY TO BUILD UP MY BAD CREDIT HISTORY.THEY WERE THE ONLY CREDIT CARD BANK THAT GAVE ME A CREIT CARD EVEN WITH MY LOUSY CREDIT. SO IF YOU DONT READ THE FINE PRINT BEFORE YOU SIGN UP THEN I THINK THAT IS NOT THBE WAY.
