How to Deal with Jealousy

I am not afraid to admit, I get jealous. I hear from almost everyone that jealousy is the quickest way to end a relationship. However, I disagree with this theory. A little jealousy in a relationship can be an incredibly good thing. I am not saying that acting absolutely insane with jealousy is a good thing. Reminding your partner that ' Hey, I love you, I'm jealous,' Can make the other person feel good, and it reminds them that you are attracted to them.

My boyfriend is a really great guy, he is brilliant, charming, funny, sexy and kind. I understand how desirable he is. It is not uncommon for other women to openly stare at him, and flirt with him. I keep my cool, considering he doesn't have to do anything to attract their advances. He is a wonderful guy, I'm lucky to have him.
However, I have my moments when I feel insanely upset by jealousy. It can be so hard to control my jealousy. It is truly an inner battle. I know I can't constantly bring it up, but I really want to. I generally bite my tongue, or vent to my loyal dogs about it, instead of addressing the jealousy issue with him.

Recently, I have really been tormented by one of his coworkers. She calls our house almost everyday, she is openly hostile and rude with me. I really feel uncomfortable in the situation. I feel she has been overstepping her bounds. A few days ago, when I got home, I pressed the button on the answering machine to find a most inappropriate message, and I felt that with this, it was time to be honest about my feelings.I admitted that I felt uncomfortable with the 'friendship', I said " Wow, this is so embarrassing, I am jealous."

Hearing that I cared enough to feel jealous made my boyfriend feel good, he said " That is really flattering. You should never worry about that!"
