Between these two stores, you'll notice very subtle differences. The main difference is the price. The clothing is very similar, and for the same shirt in each shop, the one from Abercrombie and Fitch would typically cost 1.5 - 2 times as much. This is nuts. Both stores are extremely popular and provide a competitive shopping experience, but Hollister seems to be more popular lately because the prices are half as much. But it's not like Abercrombie is taking a downfall - They get the profits from both stores, so it's not really hurting their business either way.

The reason why Hollister is so popular is simple - people love their clothes! People will buy what they want, and for the price they want it at. If people are willing to pay the prices at Hollister, then so be it. They're getting what they want.
