Throughout the lifespan of the Xbox 360, Microsoft has given away five games for free at one time or another: Aegis Wing, Hexic HD, TotemBall, Undertow and Yaris. Although they are free, it doesn't mean they are worth downloading and playing. Let's rank the five free Xbox LIVE Arcade games from worst to best.

5. Yaris
Publisher: Microsoft Game Studios, Developer: Backbone Entertainment, Release Date: October 10, 2007, ESRB Rating: E10+
The ad-heavy Yaris was free from the very beginning. This free Xbox LIVE Arcade game was used to promote the Toyota Yaris line of cars; unfortunately for Toyota, the game has the opposite effect. Cars behaving unrealistically due to the floaty physics are the least of the game's problems. Plagued by bad graphics, dull gameplay and horrible controls, Yaris is one of the worst games on the Xbox 360.

4. TotemBall
Publisher: Microsoft Game Studios, Developer: Strange Flavour, Release Date: October 04, 2006, ESRB Rating: N/A
You can play TotemBall for free, provided you have Xbox Live Vision Camera. Similar to Katamari Damacy, you roll around an open environment in order to collect items. This free Xbox LIVE Arcade game lacks the flash and creativity of the aforementioned game, however. Not to mention that the controls, which requires you to move your hands up and down, aren't very good. The only saving grace for TotemBall is inclusion of co-op play.

3. Hexic HD
Publisher: Microsoft Game Studios, Developer: Microsoft Game Studios, Release Date: November 22, 2005, ESRB Rating: E
Hexic HD came preinstalled on the hard drives of the Xbox 360. From the creator of Tetris, Hexic HD has a lot to live up to. In this puzzle game, you have to match three hexagon tiles of the same color together in order form a cluster. The game is too slow and complicated for it to be on the same level as Tetris. Not to mention the graphics, even in high-definition, is a little dull. Hexic HD is not bad for a free game, however, and worth a look.
