Does Jesus know you? It's common place in this society to say you're a Christian when its convenient. But the moment you'reoff the hot seat you return to you way of living that is nowhere near being a Christian.

What is a Christian?

A Christian is a person who has repented (confessed/ admitted to) of their sins, or the wrong things they have done against God. If you don't understand, think about this: have you lied? That was a wrong against God and your fellow man. A Christian is also a person who follows Jesus, which means, they live differently than they use to. To know Jesus is to read up on him, but for those who probably will not I'll you give the gist of it: it means to love, to hate sin (doing wrong), and to love God (doing what he says).

If you haven't done the first, you're not a Christian and Jesus loves you, but he doesn't know you.

Let me explain further. In order for Jesus to know you, you must repent and ask him to be Lord over your life; to accept his sacrifice on the cross for your sins because he loved you enough to do so, no matter who you are or what you have done, that's true. Once you've done that Jesus will know you. Knowing you is having a relationship with God through his son Jesus Christ and allowing the Holy Spirit to guide you daily to grow as a Christian.

However, I already know that many will not do this, but many will. You have a choice, to know Jesus or for him not to know you. When you die (and you will) the decision you make determines the consequences, there'll be no surprises when we are all judged---disappointments maybe; even malicious hatred; or reverence for the Savior.

You're making the choice even now, make sure its the right one.

Ivan, thank you very much for an articulate, cogent explanation of what a Christian really is! You remind me so much of Kirk Cameron. Do you ever watch his show on TBN? I have faved/subscribed so I can read other posts. God bless you, and He will!
