Connecticut, as with other states, protects its people as well as its native plants and animals by enforcing Exotic Animal Laws. These laws determine what animals may be kept in the State of Connecticut, who may possess certain exotic animals and what consequences will be dealt should these laws be broken. These laws are Connecticut General Statutes §26-40A, §26-40D, §26-55, §26-57 and §26-55-2.
