We've all heard it said, if March comes in like a lion, it will go out like a lamb. We've also heard, if March comes in like a lamb, it will go out like a lion. I have paid close attention to that "old wives tale", as many call it, and I'm not so sure it is an old wives tale. Here is why I say that...
For years now, I have watched closely how March comes in, and how it goes out, and guess what? Every year without fail, if March first was calm, and beautiful, then the last few days were horrible! Either cold and rainy, or snowing, take your pick. However, on the years when March came it with a furrosios roar, it always went out beautifully.
So, I ask you now, think back to March first, (come on now, it was only 4 weeks ago. Do you remember what the weather was like? For us here, it was just beautiful! Sunny, warm, you couldn't ask for a more beautiful day. It was absolutely beautiful. Now guess what our forecast is for the next two days... Cold, rain, and snow, even some thunder boomers are being forecast, oh and let's not forget the winds! Seems that every possible weather condition we could possibly have, is forecast for us for the next two days, then it is beautiful again!
So, what does your forecast hold for the next two days? What was the weather like the first of March where you live? Think it's an old wives tale? Pay attention this year, and next year, and the next year, maybe there is something to it, and maybe there's not. You may be very surprised at how accurate that old wives tale really is.
