Things to Invest In, in Order to Love Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding can be a tedious task; especially for a new mom. After all, you have gone through 9 months and possibly a 10 hr labor or a c-section, your body will need more than a 10 month rest. Basically, there are moms who give up at the first sign of failure. As for me, I had a
 c-section and was not able to breastfeed my baby for 1 whole week properly. We were having a hard time finding the correct position, which by the time, she would have turned blue-black from crying. And the stitches were making it difficult for me to sit properly. However, to make breastfeeding a pleasurable experience, we can indulge in a lot of things.

Breast pump:

This is God sent. With an increase in the number of working women, this gadget had to be invented. If you are feeling overly tired get your partner to help you feed your baby. Breast milk can be pumped and stred in the freezer or 3 weeks, maximum. There are sterilizers and other items available that will make this alternative a breeze.

I prefer the hand-pump basically because I like the feeling of milking and I get to decide on the pressure applied instantly. There are electronic pumps that could pump either one side or both sides at the same time, depending on your baby budget.

Bottles:

Breast Pumps usually come with a bottle or two for storage and feeding. Hence, it will not be necessary to invest in any more.

Sterilizing equipment:

There are many models to choose from. If you do not want to feel that you have not done justice to sterilizing your child's bottles and pump, invest in one that does auto sterilizing. Sterilizing tablets are also available in the market. This will save your gas and your headache

Nursing Bras:

Investing in a few good nursing bras is very important. Your breast has a vital role to play in your figure. Some moms end up with sagging breasts by the time they wean their child from breasts. So, find a good nursing bra with plenty of support. You will feel good.

Nipple cream / Breast Gels:

There isn't one where I am. However, i read up on it and feel that it is a good idea :D. Basically because, it helps to impart nutrition to newbons who are not able get the benefits due to several reasons. Death of the mother, inconsistency in milk flow which prevents the baby from feeding properly and also due to insufficient or no breastmilk. It will also be good for kids whose mothers quality of milk is affected due to poverty or other reasons. However, it needs to be regulated properly. I do not think payment is made for donating breastmilk which is good as this only invites mothers who donate for goodwill. I do not see it across many countries, although prevelant in north america, I presume.

Very good article.Such an impact on the health of the infant.Hope this encourages new mothers or mothers to be.I hear some places have bteast milk banks for those who are having trouble.Not sure how I feel about that though.
