Delaware Exotic Animal Laws

DEL. CODE ANN tit. 3 §7201 is the code that deals with possession of an exotic animal in the State of Delaware. This code simply states that in order for anyone to legally possess, transport, exhibit or sell any wild animal or reptile that is not native or common to the State of Delaware, they must first possess a permit from the Delaware Department of Agriculture. But, under no circumstances shall anyone be permitted to possess, transport, exhibit or sell any species of venomous snake that is not native or common to the State of Delaware.
DEL. CODE ANN tit. 3 §7202 is the code that deals with permits, rules, regulations and exemptions regarding exotic animals in the State of Delaware. This code states that the Delaware Department of Agriculture has the authority to issue permits allowing the possession, transportation, exhibition and even the sale of exotic animals within the state of Delaware. This code also states that the Delaware Department of Agriculture has the authority to enforce the rules and regulations set forth by the Delaware Exotic Animal Laws and that this agency has the authority to designate certain agencies to enforce these rules and regulations. A fee of $25 is also provided for in this code for each permit issued.
