Traveling to China in 2008: Invaluable Tips
Part I: Getting There
1. A pen
2. Two passport sized photographs (of yourself or whoevers getting the visa)
3. Your passport
4. Information about where you'll be staying in China, and preferably, a Chinese telephone contact number. (If you dont have either of these, you can get by - just write "Hotel" and remember to bring the number of the hotel you're staying at when they ask you on the visa document)
Trust me, bringing these items will make it a much easier time for you. The place can get crowded. Dont go at noon, they close for lunch until about 2PM.
TICKETS.
I've been arranging a wedding in China come June 2008 and we're flying a good number of people over. Hence, without question, the cheapest air tickets are to be found on: wwwCheapoair.com
This isn't an advertisement scam, I haven't been paid by them or anything. Straight up, its the cheapest site we've found - pick the right days of the week, or the right season and you can get a ticket to China this summer for about $900.00. Off-season, it can go down to a surprising $500.00.
