Living to 100 and beyond is easier than you think. You have heard that more people are living longer and longer now, and sometimes, they even live way pass 100. To push to this limit, here are eight simple things you can do to make that dream come true. For others, these simple things can
only make you healthier.
Rise and Shine
Routine has its benefits. According to the Archives of General Psychiatry, if you sleep more than eight hours a night, you might reduce your lifespan. Therefore, establish a routine to wake up when the alarm goes off will extent your longevity.
Get a Pet
Pets have been known to reduce blood pressure and bring calmness. If you are allergic to cats and dogs, get a fish, and set up an aquarium in your house. Gazing at the aquarium also proves to reduce stress level.
Take a Power Nap
In "Secrets of Longevity: Hundreds of Ways to Live to be 100" by author Maoshing Ni, he found in his research that taking a daily nap, at least half-hour a day, can help prevent heart disease. If it is possible, take a 15 minutes catnap since "A nap a day can keep the doctor at bay."
Eat More Berries
Blueberries contain a high level of antioxidants than other foods, and their neuro-protective properties are shown in delaying the onset of aging and age-related memory loss. Sprinkle some blueberries on your oatmeal or cereal.
Cranberries are also good for lower cholesterol, since they contain bacteria-fighting properties. Try cranraisins on your salad. It is healthy, and delicious!
