I would like to begin this letter to my fellow citizens with a question: What are the first thoughts that pop into your minds when you hear the words “Sex Offender”? Child molester/predator, freak, outcast, monster? Someone who is incapable of ever changing, of rising above this label, and is someone always to be feared and watched with extreme prejudice? Ever heard the term, “Once an offender, always an offender”? These are people, who in the words of a particular politician in a recent news report, belong only in a place like Gitmo, far away from our “civilized” society. Separating them from our mainstream is the only way to keep our children and ourselves safe from these depraved and sick individuals. And in the wake of recent tragic events, the deaths of these precious children in our own backyards, has sent all of us into a frenzy of fear and panic. I understand this all to well, being the mother of three wonderful children, who are the center of my universe. I would go to the most extreme measures to see to it that they are always safe, as would any parent. You grew this wonderful life in your womb for 9 months, nurtured and loved your child for all their young life, and along comes the real boogeyman, snatches away and extinguishes the life of your child. There is no greater grief than the loss of a child, especially under such horrible circumstances. I pray every day to God that I am cold and dead in my grave long before my children are. What parent doesn’t?

Good luck to you C.E., Your son has not seen anything yet. As for the person that is hateful for the SO that went to jail for only 8 months, sorry, but his sentence hasn't even started yet. Some of us are terrible terrible people, fit only to grovel in the shadows of humanity for what we've done. Others of us however are people that were young, stupid, and thought they were in love.. Or worse, decided to do something as a joke, or prank. yes, the terrible ones should be made to suffer, but those that mooned someone, or had a girlfriend 4 years below their age should not be.

This article hit a cord with me as my son is on the S.O. list. He was 18 and had known concentual sex with his then almost 16 yr. old gf. Her mom got mad and turned my son in. I do not condone what my son did......it was stupid but concent is concent and she was a week from turning 16. ANYHOW, after his conviction, a few years later, we now have what they called the Romeo and Juliet Defense here in Indiana, that a attorney can use in such cases like this where the age difference between a guy and girl is less than 4 years apart in age. It's been 5 years and my son cannot get a good job! He even has a letter written by the sheriff's department stating he is no threat to anyone and has no restrictions on him at all about where he can work or live. BUT he's still on the registry and still has to sign that box when filling out applications. No body looks past the words "felony". The sexual laws are there for a reason but sometimes it is unfair. They do need to change just a bit.

My name is Fima and I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA I came to US as political refugee on human rights violations in former USSR I am russian jew, and I got a lot of discrimination in USSR My parents are Holocaust survivors. But I got the worst thing in USA, never possible in communist country. I was set up with my computer, convicted as a s..x offender for computer p..rn. Now I do not have job and can hardly survive under police database supervision, named s..x offender registration. Nobody want to hire me, I think because of police database. And I have family. Who cares? Dirty polititians are playing their dirty games for more power. I would like to send you some links to publications about my criminal case. I was forced to confess to the possession of internet digital pictures of p..rn in deleted clusters of my computer hard drive. My browser was hijacked while I was browsing the web. I was redirected to illegal sites against my will. Some illegal pictures were

Well, here's your sign, as they say. I am a victorious SURVIVOR of childhood molestation, Dominic. Not to mention the aunt of survivors of child molestation, and the friends of many too. There's that assuming thing again.

You wouldn't be so enamored of defending these perverts if someone you knew had been attacked and violated by one of them. Of course, you lefties don't have a sensible bone in your heads,do you?

Get informed, check out: http://sexoffenderinfo.pbwiki.com * If the sex offender laws are kept, why discriminate? If sex offenders must suffer for life and be on GPS, so should ANYONE with a criminal record. If this is not done, then it is discrimination. Anyone with a criminal record should be on a registry on the internet for the whole world to see, and be on GPS for life. DUI offenders should not be able to live XX feet from an alcohol store and should have their license revoked. Drug dealers should not be able to live XX feet from anywhere children congregate, so they cannot sell our kids drugs. Murderers should not be able to life XX feet from ANYONE, since they may kill again. DUI offenders kill more people than any other crime (I believe), and I'm sure the entire public would love to know if a murderer, thief, drug dealer, etc lives in their neighborhood. If all this was on the internet for all to see, I'm sure everyone would NOT leave their house at all. These people ar

I love it when people like this show up, they just serve to verify my point. If I was trying to hide, I probably wouldn't be so stupid as to make my husband and myself so public as this, nor would I be telling our story to anyone willing to listen, whether or not they believe the truth, it doesn't matter. Do please take this gentleman's advise and check out the link. And I say again; you know what they say about people who assume, don't you? They make an *ss of u and me...LOL. Feel free to post here as much as you want Josh, people like you who just go by what they see on the news or on a poorly worded and maintained website without knowing what is really going on only prove the point that society has been misled and is even less safe now then they were before. That scares me more than the fear mongers ever could.
