The Elbow Room in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania: Restaurant Review

All throughout Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania are plenty of fine restaurants and bars. The section of Pittsburgh known as Shadyside is no different; the cultural district of Pittsburgh has a great variety of restaurants for one to chose from for any occasion. The Elbow Room located at 5744 ½ Ellsworth Ave in Pittsburgh is just one of those wonderful restaurants one can go to for a night on the town. The Elbow Room can be difficult to find because it is located in between two other restaurants. It is a small establishment, but that adds to the ambiance, and relates to the name of the establishment. The Elbow Room is about five miles or so away from the University of Pittsburgh campus.

The Elbow Room has very colorful decorations. The walls and seating are multicolored and switches between red, green, and yellow. Almost making it look Spanish inspired. The parking is a little tight because you have to park along the street. Sometimes you may have to park around the corner and end up walking a block or so to get to the restaurant. The entrance to the restaurant is a little tight and you may have to wait if someone is walking out of the establishment. The tables are close set, but it's not too close that you feel claustrophobic or crowded into a small room. The way the restaurant is set up reflects the name "Elbow Room." Many restaurants have just a glass window separating the smoking and non smoking sections, but The Elbow Room has them on different parts of the restaurant, with a wall between the two so smoke doesn't linger over.
