About a year ago, I was out walking and listening to a song from my iPod titled "Leader Of The Band" by Dan Fogelberg and while listening to this particular song, a thought came upon me that there may be, for some people, a difference between our Earthly parents and our spiritual parents. I thought about this for several days until I just parked the whole thing in my memories and moved on to other things.

Spiritual Parents versus Earthly parents, to some that might sound rather bizarre or even something worth questioning someone's sanity over. Well, I suppose it's all up to one's own beliefs, yanno?

About a week ago, again, just out for a walk, I kept thinking about the expressed tightness of a friend's family as compared to the almost non existent connection I have with anyone I'm related to. Then suddenly I started feeling rather empty in my relationship with my parents. As I consider my distant memories of the dysfunctional relationship I had with my older brother during my childhood years, I found myself amazed as I once actually tried to connect with him but found complete rejection in the process. Why? Is it really that simple to just rule it out as the "Pesky younger brother" syndrome?

I always felt as though I was just different people from all my family, but what did this black sheep do to feel so distant from everyone that I'm told I'm supposed to love? Then during my walk last week, I bridged two thoughts together; Earthly/Spiritual Parents and this life long wedge between my family and I. Is it really possible that for some people, the reason they're so different and distant from their blood relatives is simply because their spiritual lineage is far different from their Earthly family?
