Prom is always an exciting time, but the fun can quickly dissipate with bad music choices. Here are my thoughts on the top ten songs guaranteed to get people on their feet!

10) "Macarena" Los Del Rio

Even though most people don't know what the lyrics are saying, this song is great for proms and dances because it has its own choreography. It always manages to get people warmed up and ready for the night ahead.

9) "You Shook Me All Night Long" AC/DC

Though high school students were not even alive when this song was released, most students still know all the words and are ready and eager to jump up and dance to this classic hit.

8) "Sexy Back" Justin Timberlake

This is a great song that, no matter what, manages to get people on their feet and dancing to the beat!

7) "Cha Cha Slide" Mr. C

This is another song with its own choreography. Better yet, this one actually gives you the instructions in the song, which makes it possible for even the worst dancers to follow along.

6) "MmmBop!" Hanson

Here is a song that today's high school students grew up listening to, so it will always managed to spark that bit of nostalgia when played.

5) "Yeah!" Usher

This is definitely one of the best songs for dancing. It has a great beat that even students who aren't hip hop fans dance to.

4) "Here (In Your Arms)" HelloGoodbye

This is a song whose lyrics are much like those of a ballad, yet it has a great techno beat that will be stuck in your head for days after prom is over!

3) "Clumsy" Fergie

Once again, here is a song with flirty, cutesy lyrics, but it still has a great beat. This song in particular stands out because it has a retro feel to it, with hints of big band swing style.

2) "Take You There" Sean Kingston

Sean Kingston's music always has a wonderful dance beat, which is enhanced by the strong Jamaican roots of his music. "Take You There" is, of course, no exception.

1) "Don't Stop The Music" Rihanna

The title pretty much says it all. This song is about wanting to dance all night, and that's what people at prom want to do!
