We go out to eat a lot when we visit our daughter in Los Angeles. The following four restaurants offer different kinds of food. We liked each one for different reasons.

Gingergrass Fresh Vietnamese Cuisine located at 2396 Glendale Boulevard in the Silverlake area of Los Angeles, California offers truly delicious food. We took out from here and although we had enough food for four of us I could have kept eating. They are open every day. Lunch is served from 11:30 to 3:00 p.m. and dinner is from 5:00p.m. to 10:00p.m. Friday and Saturday nights they stay open until 10:30p.m. You can find them at

http://www.gingergrass.com/htm/gg_geninfo.htm

There was nothing we ordered that didn't taste wonderful and each dish was plentiful. We got Lemongrass Chicken which is grilled chicken marinated with lemongrass and chilies for $11.95; Chicken Wok Tossed Noodles (also available with beef or tofu) is a dish with egg noodles tossed with bean sprouts, onion, carrots and cabbage for $9.95; and Shrimp Noodle Bowl (The Noodle Bowls come with beef, chicken, port, tofu, vegetarian, crab and shrimp and grilled shrimp.) for $7.95. This Bowl was my favorite but truly this was one of the best meals I've had in Los Angeles.

Noah's New York Bagels is a chain with 70 restaurants in California, Washington and Oregon. They are a "registered trademark of Einstein and Noah Corp., a wholly-owned subsidiary of New World Restaurant Group." www.noahs.com. We went to one in Los Angeles and one in the Embarcadero area of San Francisco. On the east coast we have Einstein whose bagels are just as good, naturally, as those made by Noah's. Also served are lunch, coffee, salads and sandwiches. My favorite item at Noah's is the Powerbagel for $1.39. It contains lots of nuts and fruit. Rather than being in a bagel shape it is more like a small loaf of bread. .Their hours are generally Monday through Friday from 6:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. and Saturday/Sunday from 6:30a.m. to 4:00p.m.
