Get Off Your Phone and Drive!

It's one of those days. The kind of days where everyone seems to be on a personal mission to urinate me off, get in my way, and make my day a lot harder. The road is full of people driving way below the speed limit, coming over to my lane without a blinker on only to discover I am already there and quickly swerving back into the lane they started in. This leads me to a very important saying I have heard many times: Get off your phone and Drive! We've all been guilty of having a quick chat with a friend about god-knows-what while driving to god-knows where, but there are some people that can't seem to take that cell phone away from their head. I can say, more times than not, that I have encountered someone driving "recklessly" and flew past them two times faster only to look over and see they are on the phone, probably talking about something insignificant to the rest of the world, like...what's for dinner? This is where I have the problem. I could understand talking on the phone while driving if the conversation was important, like, something about the stock market or your snotty kids at the local daycare center. But if you're on the phone, causing traffic to move a lot slower than it has to, all because you are telling your hubby about the frozen mortadella with pasta in the freezer, just stop, pull over, smash your phone on the ground, and make everyone else's life a lot easier; be selfless!
I'm not asking for a whole lot here. I'm not asking everyone to loosen their ties, drop their briefcases, and get rid of their cell phones. I'm just simply asking the people who have a cell phone attached to the side of their face for most of the day to step back and really think about what they're doing. Dinner can wait, the gossip about so-and-so being pregnant with blah-de-blah's baby can probably wait too. And if they can't, get rid of your car. Please!
