Best Chicago Bubble Tea: Saints Alp Tea House
Saints Alp teahouse severs up some of the best bubble tea in Chicago. Saints Alps certainly has the most selection of any Chinese restaurants I have ever been to as well.
Saints Alps is located in China Town in Chicago, which is a quick ride on the red line just south of downtown. You cannot miss the stop since it is Cermack/ China Town. Saints Alp
is located right off the train and easy to get too.
Bubble tea is a popular drink served up in Taiwan and has found is way to the United Sates. You can buy your own bubble kits online, but going out to a fun shop like Saints Alp is totally worth a trip or two.
Basically bubble tea is either green tea or black tea. It can be mixed with a milk base or a fruit juice. There are hundreds of varieties and flavors of bubble teas, so that is only a basic definition of what this drink is.
Saints Alps has three stores in the Untied Sates. Two of these stress are located in New York City. Chicago has one store, located in China Town. It is super easy to get to. Chinatown is about 5 miles south of Downtown Chicago. You can simply ride the red line down to the Chinatown stop and walk a block off the train to the store.
Prices at Saints Alps are also super cheap. You can get food as well as the bubble teas. My favorite deal at Saints Alp Tea House is the Chicken teriyaki skewers. They come with rice, tofu, and egg, and of course a bubble tea. You get all of this for about $7. Now that is a deal anywhere, but especially in Chicago.
Saints Alps Tea House is somewhat the Starbucks of Taiwan. There are so many food choices, drink choices, and the atmosphere is cheery and friendly. The staff is Chinese and speak some English, so they can help you out with the menu.
I recommend trying one of the hot black teas mixed with coconut milk. You will be asked if you want the bubble tea with or without Tapioca balls. Go for them the first time to see if you like them. They are sugary sweet balls of tapioca that float up the straw when you drink them! Yum!
Saints Alp Tea House is located at 2131 South Archer, Chicago, Illinois. There is plenty of street parking as well.
