Gifts for New Dads on Father's Day

A good Father's Day gift for a new dad is money. I assure you he can use all that he can get his hands on and it will be that way for awhile.

These days I think great gifts for Father's Day revolve around the financial aspect of a new dad's life. The new dad is going to be on the go even more than usual. Perhaps a prepaid gas card, available at virtually major gas station might be a good gift. That way he wouldn't have to worry about always having cash in his pocket.

Another gift for the new dad on Father's Day might be a group of food coupons from a fast food place like McDonald's or Burger King. Again, the idea is to give dad that ability to stay on the go and minimize his needed expenditures of family resources. You remember how it was; Huggies and Pampers cost a gazillion dollars along with those trips to the doctor for every-other-month ear infections.

Speaking of ear infections, I received a book when I was a new dad for Father's Day that illustrated and outlined many illnesses that often came with infancy. This helped me understand when our first baby got ill and saved a lot of wear and tear on my mind and emotions.

The new dad is very busy as is the new mom. His first Father's Day is also her first Father's Day so why not get them a ticket to the movies so they can get out of the house, in fact, for my brother's first Father's Day, I offered to baby-sit at any date of their request if at all possible. Believe it or not it took a year for my wife and me to get out socially after the birth of our first son.

There is less money for entertainment so another good first Father's Day gift is a gift certificate for the new dad and his wife at a nice restaurant. Also, movies in the form of DVD's are a great gift because staying at home is much more of a necessity.

One idea my wife came up with for the new dad for that first Father's Day was one of several different games such as Trivial Pursuit and Scrabble. These games are used to entertain the couple and are also used to entertain guests.

The new dad needs money and gifts that make his life easier and minimizes his out-of-pocket expenses.
