Thank You

A tomboy, a princess, pumpkin head too.
A cheerleader, an ice skater, even a musician.
A painter, a writer, a scholar with arms full of books.
An athlete, a performer, an absolute worrywart.

All my personalities, all my habits, all my hobbies.
All the stress, all the confusion, all the laughter.

You never judged, you never questioned; you were always there.
You supported me, wiped my tears away, and hugged me tight.

Thank you.
For being my dad.
For being my hero.
For being my friend.

Daddy's Girl

Bedtime stories late at night, I begged for one more page.
Baseball games in the backyard, I asked for one more throw.
Video games in the afternoon, I hoped for one more level.
Horseshoes in the backyard,
Basketball in the driveway,
Nonsense games played anywhere, I always hoped for more.

All the stories have an end, limited by their pages.
And every game must end as well, or be played throughout the ages.

But something that I know will forever be true in this world:
I will always be
Daddy's little girl.
