What a Deal at the Holiday Inn Main Gate East in Kissimmee, Florida

Summer Bay, a timeshare in Kissimmee, Florida, offered us a deal we couldn't refuse. For just $99 we received 3 nights/4 days in Kissimmee, 2 tickets to Universal Studios, 2 nights/3 days in Daytona Beach, 2 nights in Vegas, and 2/3 days in a choice of 29 destinations in the United States. There was also a cruise as well, but we declined that one.

So today we arrived at Summer Bay and were directed to the Holiday Inn Main Gate East in Kissimmee. It is close to our Westgate and our Vacation Village at Parkway timeshares. It is also opposite Old Town which is one of our favorite places for the motorcycle, car shows, and live music every night.

We got to the hotel at 12.45 p.m. and waited a few minutes to check in. Unfortunately our room wasn't ready so we pre-booked. The lady took my cell phone number and said she would phone if it was ready before we returned. We walked over to Old Town and came back to the hotel around 2.45 p.m. I went up to the same lady and she said that our room was still not cleaned. I asked her if she had any room away from the swimming pool area that was ready. She gave us a room on the 4th floor in the second building. I asked her if there was a refrigerator in the room and she said that we could rent one for $10 a night. I said we normally got them comped as we are Priority Club members and that my husband is insulin dependent diabetic. The only thing she gave us was the keys and I had to ask for a map for directions to the room.

We drove to the back parking lot and headed into the second building. The elevators were close so we went up to our room. All the rooms are interior which is a must for me. Upon entering the room to the left is a hanging space with an iron and ironing board, then the bathroom which is a good size. The vanity is huge but only has one basin. The bathtub is big and has a pulsating shower at one end which give a great massage. The usual soaps, shampoo, and lotion were there and also a hairdryer. Under the vanity is a safe.
