When teacups or coffee cups break you're left with an extra saucer, but they're worth saving and reusing in a number of crafty and practical ways. If you have an extra saucer or two, don't throw them away. Here you'll learn a number of creative ways to use old saucers. You might even want to use saucers that aren't missing their mate!

Creative Decoupage Photo

How about turning a lone saucer into a beautiful decoupage photo display? All you need is a saucer, decoupage glue, a craft brush, and stickers or paper cutouts of your choice. You can also surround the photo with fine iridescent glitter, flat-back faux gems, sequins, beautiful glass beads, shells, or small polished stones.

Begin by gluing a photo to the center of the saucer, and glue cutouts of designs from cards, magazines, or stickers around the edges of the photo. Next, brush decoupage glue over the photo and the graphics or stickers surrounding it.

Lastly, while the decoupage glue is still tacky, sprinkle fine iridescent glue around the edges, or use craft glue to add any of the other suggested embellishments. Use your imagination and creativity to make a decorative decoupage photo that is sure to impress. Once the glue is dry, display the saucer on a small plate stand. No one will ever guess this impressive decoupage photo display was made with an old saucer.

Salad Drainer

Old saucers are great for draining salad ingredients. After rinsing salad greens in a colander, allow them to drain further by placing saucers upside down over larger bowls and placing the greens on top. The excess water will run down the saucers and into the bowls. It's a great way to keep salad from being soggy without wasting paper towels, and it's a fantastic way to use the old saucers you might have thought about throwing away.

Loved all the ideas~I save my saucers and coordinate them with orphaned teacups I find at the thrift store for a funky look.
