Where would be the best places in Europe to pop the question? Well, read on to find out about Europe's top eight most romantic cities to be whisked away to-and to propose a question which could change the life of you and your spouse to-be.

1. Venice

Ah, Venice. The city where eyes water upon the sight of gondolas drifting along the canals of the city. This city is particularly best for couples who are older (though young ones will love it as well) since the pace is slow, and the city can be seen at a leisurely stroll. A beautiful spot on which to share a romantic necking session, or to even bring out the proposal question, would be the Bridge of Sighs. Even the name is romantic, huh? Make sure to get lost amongst the narrow streets, and who knows what feelings will stir up when you've discovered a hidden street all to yourselves!

2. Paris

One of my friends went to Paris for an exchange program, and since then, would continue to yearn to return. That was five years ago. And just last year, he finally saved up enough money to get there. And since then, has fallen totally in love all over again. He will never (he declares) return to his previous home in the United States. Never had he seen a city full of bistros, of beautiful cafes. He has told me that seeing the Eiffel Tower with his own eyes has far overshadowed any of the pictures he had seen growing up. The Seine River is wholly romantic, along which lovers can be seen strolling hand-in-hand. Springtime, he has told me, is the perfect time to fall in love in this magical city, the City of Lights and Love.

3. Vienna, the capital of Austria, is filled with breathtaking gardens and palaces. Perhaps you could take a walk through a sparkling boulevard with your honey. If you are both musically inclined, then Vienna is just the place! Laden with operas and concerts, the two of you could have your pick. The palaces are astounding; check out the Hofburg Imperial Palace or the Belvedere Palace with your loved one and see what I mean.
