The Doctor and I

Today was the day I seen Mr. Doctor Man
A few words for him was the plan
Patiently waiting, again I did ache
Hurry up Doc, for goodness sake!

Finally the nurse calls my name
Pointing at him, ready to blame
Oh Mr. Doctor Man, hello again!
Excuse my tears, but I'm in pain

In my hand was the proof; I did hurt
My emergency room results alert
Mr. Doctor Man, do something quick
"This is only a symptom," said the medic
"To a bigger problem in your back."
Needless to say, it's out of whack

What is our plan
Are you my doctor and friend?
A patient to lose or to amend?

I'm no junkie as you did write
Look in your charts; proof I was right
I'm not looking for pain pills, a score
I'm looking for something not at a drugstore

You finally believe me
Trusted now, will I be?
Reassuring me, not harm meant

Causing the pain to get worse
Today we start all over, once again
Mr. Doctor Man now also my friend.

Working together now
We shall find out how
